The San Francisco Giants

Though the San Francisco Giants have won the pennant multiple times during their long established history, they have not won the coveted World Series title until recent years. The current champions of Major League Baseball, the Giants and their fans are celebrating their third championship title in five years.

It is hard not to be a fan of the San Francisco Giants when leaving in or near the popular city. More than just a tourist attraction, this city is a major contributor to the action that goes on in the sports world. With one of the longest established histories of an American baseball team, the Giants have some of the most loyal fans in the league.

With their most recent World Series victory coming last year in 2014 against the Kansas City Royals, the San Francisco Giants and their fans have much to be grateful for and to look forward to in the coming seasons. Having a rare dynasty in the modern era of the sport, the Giants look to continue their upward trend and keep winning. The hard work that the Giants put into every season is finally paying off, and the reward has been three championships. Though the MLB may be one of the hardest professional leagues to earn a championship title, the Giants have shown themselves to be up for the challenge.

Fans of the San Francisco Giants, like Julie Tishkoff, are thrilled to be able to have a winning team. Loyal through the good seasons and the bad, fans are happy to see their loyalty rewarded with multiple championships and a budding dynasty that can last for some time.

Ways to Get to Know a City

The exploration of a new city is often the best part of moving to a new location. Though everything may seem so great and new, often leaving a newcomer to be overwhelmed, there are easy ways to get to know the people of a new place and to quickly learn what are the best adventures to take advantage of in a city. The following are some of the best ways to learn from the locals about a new city.

Join a Hiking Group

In a modern day where there are so many people in the world who are exploring new activities, there seems to be a group for anything and everything under the sun. Hiking is an adventure enjoyed by plenty of people around the world. If a person lives anywhere near a mountain, you can almost guarantee that there is a hiking group ready to summit the peak, or bask in the sun, or enjoy the smell of the fresh air amongst the tree. Joining a hiking group can be a great way to meet like minded people who enjoy getting out under the sun and conquering a trail.

Attending a Sporting Event

Sports are a great way to meet passionate people. Those who live in a larger city are often devoted to the NBA, NFL, or NHL team that resides in their city. Attending these events with others whose passion is always contagious is a great way to meet people and bond over each win or loss that the team endures throughout the course of a season.

Having lived in San Francisco for the majority of her life, Julie Tishkoff knows much about the great city. Though she may know a lot about her native land, this does not stop her from wanting to learn more of the ins and outs of her city. She spends time getting to know her city through activities likes sports, volunteering, and hiking. All of these activities have helped Julie Tishkoff become even more in love with the city and people of San Francisco.

Julie Tishkoff - SF Says Goodbye to Gore

Julie Tishkoff has access to a wide variety of professional sports. She is a San Francisco 49ers fan who, like many other fellow fans, is sad to see Frank Gore go. But the team is optimistic for the future in the hall of famer’s potential replacements. As stated in an article by Digital Media and reposted on the 49ers’ website:

“In his first two and a half seasons as a starter in the NFL, Colin Kaepernick – for the most part – took snaps alongside one running back.

Frank Gore, the San Francisco 49ers all-time leading rusher, was a three-down tailback for the team, carrying the ball, catching the ball in the flat and even staying in the pocket to block.

But now that Gore has left the Bay to join the Indianapolis Colts, his responsibilities and workload will likely be split between a trio of rushers.

Kaepernick understands the challenge of replacing a potential Hall of Famer, but the quarterback is confident that the 49ers have assembled a talented and diverse group to supplant Gore.

“It’s going to be different without Frank. He was a huge asset to us,” Kaepernick said. “He’ll be missed, but we also have people who are more than capable of filling that void.”

At the top of that list are Carlos Hyde and Kendall Hunter, who have each been productive as backups to Gore.”

Julie, of course, will still support her favorite team and hopes to make it out to some live games this upcoming season.

Julie Tishkoff - Business Consultant

Tishkoff is a highly skilled business consultant living in San Francisco area, who greatly helps both small and large businesses manage and sustain their growth. Throughout her career, she has gained valuable experience through her work with Fortune 500 companies, start-ups and everything in-between. Below, she gives some basic advice on how to effectively run a business.

Effective Marketing

Being an effective marketer herself, who knows how to sell a product to the right people, her experience in customer service has given her a good foundation for how to handle people. Julie Tishkoff recommends always to ensure you have defined the groups of people, or target audience, which would be the most interested in your product or service. Then determine the best way to reach out to them. This should be done before you launch the product or service. Tailor your marketing efforts to the lifestyles of your assumed target audience.

Hire Quality People

Having a quality staff at your side is imperative when running a business. Having a team of highly skilled and adaptable people can make launching your business that much faster and smoother versus hiring people who are unable to step out of their comfort zone. Hire go-getters who are willing to take on multiple roles to help your business succeed.

Be Cost Effective

One of the most important lessons any business should keep in mind is how to be cost effective. Define your company’s operating costs and needs. From there you can determine ways on how to cut corners when possible. For instance, telework can help cut down on expenses for businesses that don’t necessarily need an office.

Julie Tishkoff - SF Sports

Julie Tishkoff is a diehard sports fan; and she feels spoiled living in San Francisco and having access to such a wide range of professional sports teams. She has been a season pass holder for more than one professional sporting organization in the area. Below, she shares what her favorite San Francisco teams area; and she goes on to explain her levels of commitment to these franchises.

San Francisco 49ers

It’s hard to be a sports fan in San Francisco, and not like the 49ers, says Julie Tishkoff. The official franchise of the National Football League has seen more than one Super Bowl in its time; and they brought home a number of rings in the days of Joe Montana andother football greats. The last time the 49ers made it to the Super Bowl was at Super Bowl XLVII, where they faced off against the Baltimore Ravens. At the time, the head coaches on both teams were in fact brothers: Jim Harbaugh and John Harbaugh.

San Francisco Giants

What was said before about being a sports fan in SF and the 49ers, well the same can apply to the San Francisco Giants. Perhaps the bay area’s biggest sports pride as of recently, the Giants won the World Series back in 2014 over the Kansas City Royals.

Oakland Raiders

Further inland from the bay, the Oakland Raiders are also a National Football League team that is close to Julie Tishkoff. She never goes to their games though, evidently because they rarely ever win any.

Instead of elitists, look for go-getters who are willing to wear multiple hats in the overall mission of making your business succeed.

Be Cost Efficient
